Easter craft box

I make a habit of dropping by my local pound shop regularly to see if they have any new items which would be handy for my craft box, especially during seasonal times because they'll stock things which normally cost a lot more at other times of the year in my favourite craft shops.  This is what I made from (mostly) pound shop items, tutorial is under the break...

To make these yourself you should be able to get most of the items from your local pound shop/dollar store if not, most craft shops will stock them year round and because these are seasonal items this will also work for Christmas/Halloween/Valentines/other seasonal times of year.

You will need:

Scissors

Glue (I just bought a glue gun and wanted to try it out, but PVA glue will work just as well)

Felt/Fabric

Embellishments

A display box

I was lucky enough to find these phototubes in my pound shop that they'd been stocking since Christmas, but if you can't find something similar I'm sure making the display on a photo frame or inside of a mason jar or something clear you find in the craft shop will work just as well.

Step one

Glue your felt/fabric in place.  I did buy some faux grass stuff to add as well but when I took it out of the packet I realised it was awful so I just stuck to the felt.  Next time I'm in the craft shop I'm going to get some of that moss stuff that's usually by the train hobby stuff.

Step two

Select some times from your embellishments and glue them in place, I really fell in love with these wooden ladybirds and faux daisies I got in home bargains, the lady birds were only 49p for 30 and the whole sheet of daisies were only 79p.

Step three

Make as many as you can!  Honestly these are so simple they don't really require a tutorial, but they were so much fun to make and I had to justify spending £16 in the pound shop somehow, and what else was I going to do with all those chenille chicks?

I actually bought all the photocubes that were left in my pound shop so I could only make 7 of these in total, but they're going to make great Easter gifts for my niece, nephews and friends.
